In my colour circle series of oil paintings, I explore the dynamics between emotions and visual impact of colour, movement and tactility. Working from the inner self, I use dynamic colour structures, layers of texture, and a formal style to bring coherence and harmony to the picture. My expression is inspired by the complexity and vibrancy of life.

Josephine has exhibited in four solo shows and numerous group exhibitions in Sydney Australia, Beijing China and the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, Australia over a 20 year period.
"The ideas for my art come from the imagination, emotions, reality. Important influences are: nature, the human factor, science/technology. I enjoy working in oils, acrylic pigments and mixed media on canvas and paper. The quest for more knowledge of colour, abstraction, figure drawing and portraiture provide that special ongoing excitement and challenge which sustain my creative drive and open opportunities for deeper personal expression. Photography plays an indispensible role technically for recording and reproducing my work. For art’s sake also, there is an interesting world of exploration and learning for me in photography.
Reproducing and marketing my work as cards and prints is an ongoing challenge. I enjoy the various creative and marketing stages. I endeavour to bring professionalism and integrity to the entire process. Personal and customer satisfaction are my rewards".
